You know what I would like? I would like an older lesbian in a movie/tv show not to be creepy and clinging (like in Notes on a Scandal) or hopelessly in love with their straight best friends and killing their loves (like in Psych, episode Chivalry isn't Dead... but Someone Is).

Young lesbians in media don't fair much better. I feel like they're usually being killed by their straight best friends (Law and Order: Criminal Intent) or also killing their best friend's boys that they're secretly in love with (Law and Order) or two lesbians who kills the guy who threatens to tell other people they're lesbians (CSI).

What would I like? I would like an incidental lesbian, like someone who's a lesbian who gives good information? The only lesbian side character (who did nothing illegal -- or isn't from something specifically ABOUT lesbians) that I can think of is in a book written by a NUN.

Like, characters can just be STRAIGHT without it being important to the case/show but if they're GAY it has to pertain to why the were murdered, why they murdered someone else, blah blah blah...

ALSO, DAMNIT PSYCH, DON'T HATE ON COUGARS! I WAS HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED IN CHIVALRY ISN'T DEAD...BUT SOMEONE IS FOR TOTALLY DISEMPOWERING OLDER WOMEN REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE.

Some people may tell me to lighten up but I just feel like society doesn't allow older women, on a whole, to be sexual or be... okay, blah. But it adds up. One show being like older women? yuck. You can shrug it off, but they're basically all like that and it adds up and it offends me as someone who loves older women now and who plans to be a cradle robbing cougar.

HANYWAY....
